What we will be learning this term

This term, we will be talking about ourselves and our families and we will be reading the books: Owl Babies and So Much.

In nursery, we learn how to manage our feelings and our behaviour and we practise talking and listening to others. Through our exciting topics, your child will have opportunities to explore painting, cooking and 3D model making, as well as learning about letters and numbers.

In October, our new topic will be Dinosaurs. We will be looking at a range of dinosaur fiction and non-fiction books in class and we will be singing some dinosaur songs and doing dinosaur dances. After October half-term, our topics will be People who help us and Superheroes, where we will learn about the world around us through role-play and games.

Additional Responsibility

I have worked at Grinling Gibbons since September 2015 and am excited every day to come to school and learn with the children. I enjoy working here because the children are so enthusiastic and interested in their learning. As well as teaching in Year 3, I run a weekly maths booster class, after school with our Year 6 children.

As P.E. lead, I think keeping fit and staying healthy are really important. That’s why, as well as organising events such as Sports Day and ‘The Daily Mile’, you can always find me taking part in the weekly Keep Fit sessions with the other teachers!
