Welcome Back !

We hope you all had a lovely break and had lot of fun if you took part in any celebrations over the Easter period. We are excited to welcome you all back into the setting and we cannot wait to get stuck into lots of fun learning this term. Remember, we run an open door policy so please do not hesitate to drop in and speak to us if you have any questions.

What we will be learning this term

Our topic for this half-term is ‘Minibeasts’. We will be starting the term by focusing on a story that we all really enjoy at nursery; ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. This ties in nicely with our topic of minibeasts, and leads us into looking at life-cycles, as well as introducing us to the topic as a whole. We will be able to engage in a variety of learning opportunities, such as making our own minibeasts using the junk modelling, and we will be able to go on minibeast hunts in our nursery garden and investigate the patterns that we find on the creatures. On 14th May, we will also have Zoo Lab come in to visit us with a variety of minibeasts for us to get up close with! Next half-term our topic will be ‘Under the Sea’, and during this time we will be able to learn all about the different creatures that live under water.

I have worked at Grinling Gibbons as the Nursery Class Teacher since 2016.

I am proud to work here because it is such a wonderful school where all the staff and children look out for each other. As well as fantastic teachers who are dedicated to each and every child, we have children who are really lovely and value their experiences at school, which makes working here a real pleasure.

Working in the early years, I have a commitment to making sure that every child gets off to the right start in school. I strive to create an inclusive class environment which will stimulate and engage all our children, and I encourage and support them to progress and develop as learners.

I love being part of such a wonderful school community, and it is a genuine pleasure to work here and teach our pupils as they are all such lovely children and enthusiastic learners.
