This term Year 6 have been learning about WW2 and had the opportunity to visit the Imperial War Museum. Not only, was it an amazing historical site to visit (see picture below). It has also helped us immerse ourselves into this era. We were able to use this experience when writing our stories about Rose Blanche and our poems about the Blitz. See below for a few pictures of our trips.
Some of us were also able to take part in a cycling course, which allowed us to take to the streets of Deptford. We are now confident cyclists!
Next term, we have another exciting project coming up which will help us delve into the lives of some people who experienced WW2 first hand, we will be hearing from children (now adults) who were on the Kindertransport. This was an organized rescue effort that took Jewish children to safety prior to the Second World War. So, keep checking for posts!!
