We are all really excited to start the new school year – to welcome back some of our old nursery children, and to welcome some new faces to the school. Already our children have started to settle down to some amazing learning, and we are busy all day long, both inside the classroom, and in our fantastic newly-updated outside area.
This term we have started work on our topic ‘All about ourselves’, as well as doing some really exciting learning all about Autumn. Check out these pictures of some beautiful sunflowers we drew using coloured oil pastels, and our leaf collages of animals.
In the next couple of weeks, we will also be trying out some Autumn recipes and going on an Autumn walk, our first trip in Reception, so look out for our photos about that!
As you know, reading is really important, and we were so pleased to get such a fabulous turnout to our parents’ meeting all about how you can help your child in this subject. Click on the links below to see the presentation Miss Bibby gave to the parents, and to find out some top tips on reading with your child.
We also have family reading on a Friday morning, where parents and carers can drop in and read with their child. It’s great fun and the children love to share stories and books in their classrooms. Here are some of our regulars, enjoying a good read!
Next time – we’ll show you some more of our amazing learning, including work we’ve been doing on phonics – bye for now.
